Start a new Regional Group
We are so excited to hear that you are planning to start a new regional group.
Get 10 UofA Students.
You can reach out to ISA Vice President External at isa.external@ualberta.ca and we could help you by adding your group Idea into our newsletter that reach to 9,000+ international students so you get people who are interested in joining your group.
Make sure that your regional group do not exist already. You cannot start a regional group similar to groups already existing. Sometime, ISA could help you in getting an excemption so reach out to us and we could see what could be done. Search for similar group here.
Write a Constitution
Constitution is the Basic set of rules on how your group will operate.
Get registered with University and SU or GSA
Registering with University is important for your group whereas SU or GSA Registration is optional.
Meet with ISA to discuss Affilation Program
By being an ISA Affilated Regional Group, you will get many perks and full support of the ISA always.
Email ISA Vice President External (isa.external@ualberta.ca) to set up a meeting and discuss the affilation process.
We normally just go over your structure, and discuss the ways in which ISA could help you.
Have a seat on CoISA and be ISA Affilated Group
CoISA stand for Committee on International Students' Affairs.
This committee help ISA to stay connected with all affilated groups, provide resources or support as needed. CoISA normally oversee and manage the regional groups funding and many other programs.
